The holiday season is just around the corner, and Ann Arbor homes all over the city are being decked out with glitter and greens in preparation for the festivities. If you’re still hunting down the perfect holiday décor, consider shopping locally- the Ann Arbor Farmer’s Market and the Matthaei Botanical Garden’s Green Market, which will be held this Thursday, are great places to find wreaths, greens, and other holiday decorations.
The Ann Arbor branch of the women’s Farm and Garden Association will host a Greens Market at Matthaei Botanical Gardens on Thursday, December 3 from noon to 6 p.m. Matthaei’s annual Holiday Extravaganza bazaar will be held at the same time. Preorders are available for wreaths using the order form online.
Shoppers can browse an assortment of fresh-cut, top quality greens and wreaths, decorative seasonal arrangements and spring bulbs for forcing. The Greens Market also offers several specialty "shops" with something for everyone, including:
A wide assortment of freshly cut greens
Forced Christmas bulbs and Holiday plants
Michigan artisans with unique custom-made accessories, jewelry, clothing, toys and gifts Hand-knitted and hand-crafted gifts
Tempting baked goods
Estate sale antiques and collectibles from our members' attics
Light Refreshments will be sold from noon to 3 p.m.
