Vernon Downs neighborhood
is located on the west side of Ann Arbor north off of Scio Church Rd
and west of 7th street. Vernon Downs and adjacent Sunnyside and Wuerth
subdivisions consist mostly of solid will built 1950's and 1960's brick
three bedroom ranches along with a some two story homes. The subdivision
was plated and mostly built by George V. Airey, George V. Airey
Building Company in the late 1950's

appeals to home buyers looking to be close to downtown but can not find
affordable maintained housing in the old westside at reasonable
prices. - its an easy 2 mile walk or drive to downtown Ann Arbor and the
University of Michigan.
