Reaching Your Five-Year Plan? Ann Arbor Residents are Doing It!

We came across an article, "Why You Should Revisit Your Five Year Plan", from www.lifehacker.com. This article points out that by creating a five-year plan, you dramatically increase your chances of success in reaching your goals and living the life you want. People who write down goals are 33% more likely to achieve them. According to a study by Dave Kohl, professor emeritus at Virginia Tech, people who regularly write down their goals earn nine times as much over their lifetimes as people who don't (not too shabby).

Why five years? It's long enough to achieve your goals, yet not long enough to put them off.

Traveling throughout Ann Arbor, we get the feeling that Ann Arborites must be on to this. With construction in the downtown area and new businesses, such as The Wafel Shop and Babo Market, springing up, it appears Ann Arbor residents are on track to reaching their goals. This extends to the student population as well. Last year, Kiplinger reported that the University of Michigan came in at #5 for 10 Best Public Colleges with the Highest Graduation Rates.

Where do you see yourself in five years? What goals would you like to accomplish, and what advice do you have for readers on achieving them?
