Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti Library Secrets - Free Play Tickets?

There are more than just books to check out at the Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) and Ypsilanti District Library (YDL).

Did you know they have a large assortment of framed pictures you can check out on the third floor of the Ann Arbor downtown library?  They also have one of the largest Anime libraries for teens and have free monthly workshops on how to draw anime by local artist.  You can also download ebooks or audiobooks from both libraries to read on your Computer, Kindle, iPhone, iPad, Android, other devices.

Other great stuff you can borrow from the library:

  • Michigan Activity Pass -There are 60 participating institutions at the Michigan Activity Pass website. You can print out complimentary or reduced price admission for events.  For example, residents can get a free ticket for shows at the Performance Network Theatre or free entance to the Michigan Firehouse Museum.   • Musical Tools/Electronic Instruments - These are fun for all ages!  They are easily found by the check out desk at the Main Ann Arbor Branch.  Check out the Hapi Drum or the Stylophone & Stylophone Beatbox. (AADL)
  • International Language Collection -  The collection contains both adult fiction and nonfiction currently available in Arabic, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Tamil. The collection is located on the 2nd floor of the Whittaker Branch, although you can request for book to be sent other YDL branches (YDL). 
  • Ebooks and Audio Books from Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor Libraries- Just download your favorite books and keep it for a period of time to read.  Never get late fees! (AADL/YDL)
  • Telescopes and other Science Tools - Take a moment to view Saturn and Mars or just gaze up into the Milky Way thanks to AADL!

Ypsilanti District Library offers great programs and events for children, teens, and adults.
